a bit about the story…

What can I say. I’m a Cornish bird who loves anything nature anything that has the potential to heal or benefit another person. The love for helping and wanting to connect to others started young. My personal journey involved seeing my closest family member go through their own mental health struggles, as a child, I saw the countless medications they would be asked to try, sometimes the lack of support when they needed it, the process that hindered instead of helped and I remember thinking, there must be other ways. There must BE other practices that could make this journey less painful.

I don’t discount medicine in the slightest I support it in certain circumstances and think we are incredibly lucky BUT in todays society we tend to sway towards a hard pill instead of exploring other innate, already present tools available to us, we would rather endure operations to alleviate pain than explore our mental capacity for doing so. The mind body connection seems to come secondary and yet it is perhaps the most profound thing we have to alter thoughts, feelings, pain, perception, WE can do those things!! Perhaps it would blow you mind to know, YOU are capable of doing those things! For me, recognising when we can harness the power of the mind body connection without invasive processes or perhaps using mind tools alongside them in order to limit the invasive parts is a beautiful empowering gift.

Rediscovering our own individual power is something I wish I could gift to everyone but one inquisitive dedicated person at a time will have to do!

As I grew I went from one caring job to the other, dementia, care in the community, classroom assisting for special needs and amongst all that, motherhood.

Three beautiful children later, I decided the time I spent with them was/is the most precious I will ever encounter and my full time job was crippling my joy with them. Cue big balls life change - I decided I want to be me and I want to work for myself - mindful spiritual practices being big on my agenda over the years I thought, ill try hypnotherapy - its whoo whoo, its different, its right up my street. Wow was I wrong!

Turns out I picked the most thorough, pragmatic, incredibly talented teacher of clinical hypnotherapy that took me on a journey that I will never forget. One that taught me what hypnosis actually is and what it absolutely is not, a teacher that provided all the theories and evidence for me to explore and digest and blew all misconceptions out of the water.

He taught me the importance of accountability for myself and client, how fundamentally important the role of the client is and showed me the ways to practice and teach self hypnosis for others to harness and grow with themselves. Enabling the work we do in sessions to last a lifetime with your own input and commitment.

the Core values that influcence my practice…

My own personal belief is that many teach just one way these days and their one way is always the best way. I’m not sure I agree.

My way is effectively all ways. Diverse, flexible, a practice that accommodates each individual. My core values always remain the same, ethics and honesty being at the heart of everything I do. But when it comes to different approaches, tools, treatment plans I’m an open book and constantly updating and learning about the power of all things that have the potential to heal and empower a therapeutic journey. From spiritual to pseudo science through to science backed.

Remaining open, exploring, learning in order to serve you better is really important to me.

My only requirements are that the practice is safe, transparent about its process, beneficial to the individual, and ultimately reveals the inner strength that one possesses.

I currently incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapeutic practices. Hypnotherapy. ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) Mindful Meditation. NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming). I look to explore and incorporate EFT and Sound healing in the near future.

Who can benefit?

Hypnotherapy’s scope is vast and wide from enhancing sports performance through to enabling life through and past depression, IBS, pain or just general wellbeing. Here’s a few others to give you an idea -
